A2Z Drone Delivery Partners with Alatau on Kazakhstan UAM Project

The collaboration equips Alatau City with autonomous BVLOS operations, dock-based charging, and multi-mission drone networks for a regional vertiport system.

A2Z Drone Delivery has partnered with Alatau Advance Air Group to advance Kazakhstan's integrated urban air mobility initiative.

The American aerospace company announced the agreement on May 27, 2026. It will support the next-generation Integrated Urban Air Mobility project in Alatau City, Kazakhstan. The partnership originated at the May 19 opening of the UAM Test Center Eurasia in the Golden District.

During the center's launch, A2Z demonstrated its AirDocks and Longtail multi-mission aircraft. These platforms operated within an ecosystem that combined eVTOL air taxis and unmanned logistics drones. The demonstration highlighted dock-based charging and coordinated aerial operations.

A2Z was selected for its proven capabilities in autonomous beyond-visual-line-of-sight drone operations. The company will supply scalable multi-mission aerial logistics networks designed for a future regional vertiport network. These systems emphasize reliable charging infrastructure and coordinated flight management.

"AAAG’s Alatau City project is an amazing opportunity to demonstrate how communities of tomorrow can be designed from the ground up to take advantage of the next-generation technologies and innovative rulemaking that will enable functional urban air mobility at scale."
Aaron Zhang, CEO of A2Z Drone Delivery

The project establishes Alatau City as an early testbed for integrated aerial logistics. It combines delivery drones with passenger-carrying eVTOL platforms under unified operational protocols. This approach allows simultaneous testing of charging, navigation, and traffic management systems.

Authorities in Kazakhstan plan to expand the vertiport network beyond the initial test center. A2Z technology will provide the backbone for persistent autonomous flights across multiple mission types. The resulting data will inform regulatory frameworks for scaled urban air mobility operations.
