Motorola Solutions is set to acquire Israeli counter-drone firm D-Fend Solutions for $1.5 billion to strengthen its position in public safety and national security markets.
The definitive agreement was announced on June 1, 2026. Motorola Solutions, headquartered in Chicago, will integrate D-Fend's technology into its portfolio of security solutions for law enforcement agencies.
D-Fend Solutions has recorded annual revenue growth of more than 50 percent for three consecutive years. The firm anticipates $185 million in revenue for 2026, backed by thousands of system deployments spanning over 30 countries.
Regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions must be satisfied before the deal finalizes in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Zohar Halachmi, Chairman and CEO of D-Fend Solutions, noted that the combination will allow the company to expand its reach using Motorola Solutions' established relationships with public safety, federal, and enterprise customers.
This acquisition provides law enforcement and security professionals with enhanced tools to address unauthorized drone activities. Agencies such as sheriff offices and highway patrol units stand to benefit from integrated systems that go beyond detection to active mitigation. The combined technologies will support expanded operations in both urban centers and remote areas where drone incidents have increased steadily in recent years.
