UrbanV and Japan Airport Consultants have formed a strategic alliance to develop advanced air mobility infrastructure across Japan.
The announcement on June 12, 2026 marks UrbanV’s formal entry into the Japanese market, with the company serving as JAC’s strategic technical partner on the initial Tokyo Metropolitan Area project.
This arrangement establishes a long-term cooperation framework between the international vertiport network operator and Japan’s leading airport consulting firm.
We are honored to enter this market through a solid and long-term partnership with Japan Airport Consultants, a trusted local leader.
Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV, delivered the statement following the signing.
The partnership centers on vertiport planning, design, and operational standards required to support electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. These platforms form a core component of advanced air mobility systems that also encompass unmanned aerial vehicles already deployed by law enforcement agencies for surveillance and rapid response.
Security professionals monitoring drone activity will note that dedicated vertiport infrastructure can provide controlled environments for authorized operations, potentially simplifying integration with behavioral intelligence platforms and facial recognition systems at airport-adjacent facilities.
UrbanV contributes global expertise in vertiport network management while JAC supplies detailed knowledge of Japanese regulatory requirements and existing airport infrastructure. The technical collaboration is intended to align new AAM assets with the strict safety and security protocols demanded by both civil aviation authorities and law enforcement end users.
Future phases of the agreement are expected to extend beyond the Tokyo region, creating additional operational sites that could support multi-agency drone missions in other urban corridors. This initiative will enhance urban transportation options significantly.
