A Cessna 150L registered N156KA struck dense vegetation short of the runway while on approach to Kissimmee-Gateway Airport on June 6, 2026.
The 1973 airframe, serial number 15074980, was owned by Xclusive Level Auto Glass LLC. It was destroyed on impact near the intersection of West Clay Street and South John Young Parkway. Both the pilot and passenger sustained critical injuries and were transported to local hospitals; no fatalities occurred.
Kissimmee Fire Department units were dispatched at 2:59 p.m. local time. Kissimmee Police Department officers secured the perimeter while Osceola County Sheriff’s Office aviation personnel used helicopter support to reach the wreckage through thick undergrowth.
"Access was severely limited by vegetation, so our aviation assets were essential to extract the injured and document the scene," said Sgt. Derek Hale of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Battalion Chief Mark Thompson of Kissimmee Fire Department confirmed that crews worked for more than an hour to stabilize and remove the two occupants. "Both individuals were conscious but in critical condition when they left the site," Thompson stated.
Capt. Elena Vargas of the Kissimmee Police Department noted that officers established a temporary command post at the intersection to coordinate ground and air assets. "Inter-agency communication remained continuous throughout the recovery," she said.
NTSB Investigator-in-Charge Robert Kline and FAA personnel arrived on scene the same evening. Kline said preliminary examination showed the aircraft came to rest upright with the fuselage and wings heavily compromised. "We will examine maintenance records, pilot qualifications, and weather data as part of the standard process," Kline added.
FAA spokesman Michael Torres confirmed that radar and communications data have been secured for review. The investigation remains active with no cause determination issued.
The two occupants continue to receive treatment. No additional injuries were reported on the ground.
