Walmart has completed more than one million drone deliveries at an average of 23 minutes each.
The milestone was announced on May 29, 2026, through the company's official channels. Operations relied on partners Wing and Zipline. More than 200,000 deliveries occurred in Texas, accounting for 40 percent of the cumulative total during fiscal 2027 first quarter.
The shortest recorded flight reached a customer in 4 minutes and 44 seconds. These metrics reflect current throughput rates and route optimization in active service zones.
As of early June 2026, Walmart and Wing began preparations to add seven new metropolitan markets. The list includes Memphis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, New Orleans, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Salt Lake City. The rollout targets more than 270 additional retail locations.
Yahoo News confirmed the 23-minute average and expansion scope in its June 2026 coverage. The Philadelphia Business Journal reported on June 9, 2026, that the Philadelphia market launch references the same performance data.
Walmart Corporate stated the figures derive directly from completed flights logged through the Wing and Zipline platforms. The data provide law enforcement and security agencies with measurable benchmarks on commercial drone traffic density and delivery cadence in urban and suburban airspace.
